In Episode 6 of Block Chain, Michael Bordenaro interviews James Salmon, Esq.,  on Real Estate and its relationship to Block Chain. The Block Chain series focuses on interviews with people in the AECOOO and other industries that can shed light on how Blockchains will affect the lives of the AECOOO* Community.

James is President of Collaborative Construction, a firm specializing in virtual planning, design and construction and integrated project delivery, Executive Director of the Ohio Chapter of the American Subcontractors Association, a consultant for the law firm Benjamin Yocum & Heather, LLC, and an Adjunct Instructor of the Masters level BIM Strategy course offered by Middlesex University out of London. He also serves as a Special Advisor to the buildingSMARTalliance’s Thought Leadership Committee, is the founder of Smart Built Cultures, and serves as the Chair of the Cincinnati Chapter of the International Blockchain Real Estate Association. James advocates use of integrated project delivery (IPD) and virtual planning and design tools. He relishes the challenge of replacing the broken cultures with smart built cultures. James works with clients to modify existing legal frameworks to ensure support for the vision, skills, incentives, resources and actions required to achieve the changes necessary to adopt, adapt to and deploy smart cultures in multiple sectors.

James serves as an IPD Facilitator, Collaborative Consultant, and Project Neutral, among other roles.

James helps owners plan, procure and operate built assets utilizing interactive digital assets to foster innovation and to empower business owners and their collaborative partners and employees to excel in the new knowledge economy.

In addition to smart built culture consulting James teaches the cultural and legal implications of virtual procurement, planning and design and integrated project delivery locally, nationally and internationally and edits a variety of construction, design and delivery related journals, articles and blogs, publishes the Collaborative Construction Blog and manages the 4,000 + member Golden Rule Alliance group on LINKEDIN.

James teaches clients to procure smart built assets efficiently. James improves procurement by facilitating the selection, formation and training of integrated teams capable of delivering smart built assets in a collaborative environment, and working to overcome barriers to the process found in existing legal frameworks. James works closely with innovators on a multi-disciplinary basis to enable clients to create smart built cultures that enable smart innovative teams to delivery high quality, sustainable projects on time and on budget.
